What is a Pop-Up Wedding?
Appears quickly in a temporary location and is intended for only a short period of time
We set a date and location, You book your ceremony time, turn up on the day and tie the knot!
Weddings are amongst the best days of our lives, not just for the bride and groom but for family and friends too. Unfortunately, they can be extremely expensive, stressful and time-consuming which can end up taking away what it is really about.
A Pop-Up Wedding is in essence a fancy elopement that allows couples to share the cost of fabulous wedding suppliers with other couples who want to get married on the same day. They are simple, intimate, personal and fun celebrations of the love you share. They preserve all the style, quality and romance you would expect from a traditional wedding, but with a big difference in stress and cost. They are also perfect for same sex marriages, commitment and vow renewal ceremonies!
We must stress that this is NOT a mass wedding; no one else would be getting married in the same venue at the same time as you, each wedding has at least an hour in between.
We set a date and a location, you choose your time and show up on the day. It’s just that easy! You leave all the hard work to our collective of some of the North East’s best wedding suppliers who’ve partnered up with some amazing venues to give you your perfect wedding at just a fraction of the cost!
If you would prefer to choose your own date and venue we also offer Private Pop-Ups in which our team travel to you.
We take care of the celebrant, photographer, venue, stylist, florals and cake. You show up with your partner and your closest family and friends for your two-hour celebration then head off to celebrate in whichever way you like, whether it be a small intimate dinner at your favourite restaurant, or a party at home or elsewhere.
Unfortunately, due to UK laws it is not legal to get married somewhere that doesn’t hold a license but DO NOT let that put you off! It doesn’t mean we can’t do a ceremony just anywhere, or that you won’t be legally married. By using a civil celebrant, it means we CAN hold ceremonies wherever we like, you could even have it in your back garden if you wished! You can also create your own personal vows.
All it means is that you would have to give 28 days notice and visit your local registry office at a time convenient for you before your Pop-Up Wedding to do the legal paperwork. (Find out more in our FAQ’s) Some of the venues we use will be licensed, If you chose a date at a venue which is licensed, then by all means the ceremony will be legal and there will be no need to go to the registry office. We love to find quirky venues and locations which you may not normally think you can get married at but we make this possible!
A Pop-Up Wedding may not be for everyone, but it is for those who would love the tradition of a stylish wedding, a yummy cake, beautiful, professional natural photographs and a champagne toast. You want the pretty bouquet and button hole, a stunning styled venue surrounded by your nearest and dearest, all at a fraction of the cost, but without compromising on quality. If you are one of these people a Pop-Up Wedding would be perfect for you!
